I've offered to others as well...if you are serious and are ever in the Philadelphia area (I'm 1.5 hours from Harrisburg), PM me or post up and I'll send you my number.
While I don't have a "real" 427, it's just a dart block 351w stroker 427, and it is not EFI, it is carb, you can still get a good idea if the Backdraft is a platform that you should really be interested in (and in comparison to others, especially given your price range, I see no reason why you would or could lose any interest....and if you do, I honestly don't think a Cobra replica or kit is something that you should bother doing any farther research).
I have considered going to EFI as well, but with the car tuned as is, the only thing I would really gain is a little MPG's. All driving manners are great with my car, it starts up right away, and it performs great.
