My G3Grandfather Isaac Banta along with his wife and 11 kids moved there 170 years ago this year....

There 12th child was born in what became Hunt County on 5 March 1844,Elizabeth Perlina Banta.
Eliza is best known as the first to develop and raise the hearty Texas-Bred,world renown,Ho Frog.
It is said the first "Ho Frog Ranch" Eliza built & ran was just north of Caddo Mills. On still nights you can still hear them croaking.
