It's very important to really set up the controls to the driver. Pedals can typically be adjusted across to make optimum use of the space. Height of pedals makes a difference in how the pad meets your foot. The other consideration is whether the pedal pad is the pivoting type like originals so it follows your foot on the way down. Pedal height is typically adjusted with the clevises. Some people only like hung pedals some only like floor mounted. They can all be either adjusted or set up to best fit you which is I believe a safety consideration. Some pics and info here
