Therein lies the issue....
Lots of guys don't know much about carburetors or how to tune them. It's really not fair to compare a carb builder that took 3 opportunities to another who actually had the car on a chassis dyno for an hour.
Carbs are not perfect out of the box, and even custom, hand-built carbs will not be 100% perfect.
