Nick - Out of curiosity, have you found any truth to the claim that that new rack has a smoother feel than the originals due to new technology? If so, what specifically has been changed to accomplish that?

The website also specifies that the pinion has been shortened for "better clearance than original". If the pinion is shorter, than the intermediate shaft would also have to change, unless someone found having the steering wheel moved toward the dash is better for them. Sounds like playing with fire, as clearances like intermediate shaft to header tubes is often close to begin with.
