DC's point may be correct for Cobras but I had these in the day on my '67 396 / 375. So they're certainly of the same vintage.
But the larger point is that these are a squeeze to get on or off vs. a cutter and crimp tool. Encourages changing the hose at least every two years and eases other carb maintenance.
