Your right.... its not that easy!
Ring QT on 10 different occasions and you will possibly get 10 different answers.
The advice that has been provided above from Craig (400TT) is on the money. I do suggest that you get an engineer (approved by QT) involved and perhaps one who has had dealings with ICV's before.
As I understand it, you will have to be applying for reciprical (sp) registration and I can assure you that it is not achieved with just a current roadworthy. You will require this approval from QT before you get a roadworthy.
