Yes, that's exactly what I did. Found some black welders blanket, sewed up a couple of sleeves, and keep one down behind the seat on both sides. My wife would definitely get burned if I didn't use it. I just grab it before she gets out, slide it on, works great!
They would be handy if I were ever to go to any sort of show as well, until they cooled down.
