Jerry: Re: gasket thickness, I think when I put this together and consulting with Barry R, we had determined that the intake had been milled sometime in the past. I just spent a couple of hours checking intake for warpage and angles. There is a slight warp front to back and all ports check good, nothing out more than .5deg.
Then I set it back in place without bolts. Intake v/c rails are below head rails. Then I installed bolts (loose) and shimed at front and rear intake to head surface until bolt holes in intake were close to being centered to head holes. This worked out to .090" shims between intake and heads. Dist was in place, and .130" clearance on front & rear rails. So according to my logic, I need gaskets .090" thick + whatever amount of crush is required for the type of gasket I end up with.
Am I thinking correctly?

ps: the BT double thick I had in there are @.130" total.
