Well the warranty basically says that if it breaks because of something you do or were doing, it's not my fault. If it breaks because of something I did, then it's my fault and I'll fix it.
Examples of things that aren't my fault:
1. Too much fuel pressure, so that it floods the engine and washes all the cylinders down.
2. Forgetting to put
oil in it.
3. Not putting enough
oil in it.
4. Throttle linkage sticking and holding the thing at WOT for 5 minutes with no rev limiter.
5. Not letting an all-aluminum engine get up to
oil and water temp before you hammer on it.
6. Jacking a car up by the harmonic balancer.
7. Thrust bearing wiped out by incorrect bellhousing/transmission installation.
8. Plumbing an oil cooler backwards.
That's not an all-inclusive list....
Race motors that get leaned on 100% of the time really don't get a warranty so to speak. That's why they get hammered on the dyno to make sure that they're right when they leave.
