Default Threaded Plugs

The Boss 302's used this approach too. I did it to a 289 block quite some time ago. The plugs are available through Ford Power Parts. They are available in stainless steel if you want to pay the bucks! I chose the cast iron ones available through Ford Motorsport (Now Ford Racing). They are still available through Ford Racing (M-6026-B302) these are short 1 1/4 tapered pipe plugs with a 3/4" square recessed area for a square socket. The pipe tap can be had at Orchard Supply Hardware or maybe Home Depot. Be sure to run the tap in squarely and watch out for the water jacket. You may need to cut the tap off as I did, to finish the last few threads.
No regrets!
