Doug, I took the GTI last October and they directed the car to the lowest deck for parking. I remember thinking that the Cobra would definitely scrape on one of the ramps down into the belly of the ship.
The ramp onto the boat itself is fine, just getting down to the lower deck. Might be worth asking for a spot on the upper deck where they park all the caravans and larger cars. You'd be fine there but it seems to be luck of the draw for small cars - depending on where you are in the line-up.
In case you haven't visited before...
The drive from Burnie down to Cradle Mountain and back out through Wilmot and down to Mole Creek was a highlight for me. The road surface is generally good with plenty of long sweeping corners and undulations. A real driver's paradise, not to mention excellent scenery to occupy any white knuckled passengers! It's a magnificent part of the world.
