Look at that engine!! Whenever I see a pan like that, I wonder why ANY engine manufacturer would put the sump in the front! So that all the
oil can slide back away from the pickup when you are on it hard???
. WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT???
I know, I know, . . . . Its so that when you slam on the brakes, you get plenty of
oil to the pump
The manufacture can make the sump in the front or the rear equaly as easily. They have a 50/50 decision with no penalty in putting the sump in the rear, so why in the world would they put the sump in the front????
Anyway, this is nothing against this particular engine. It is just something that I don't get, and there are TONS of Ford, GM, and Mopar engines like that! Seeing that gold anodized pan just made me think of it again.
