Wha? Saving weight is penny wise pound foolish? Why did you buy a JBL then? Was it for the light weight maybe? Why do they make aluminum heads and blocks and carbon fiber bodies? Save weight maybe? Why do they produce and sell magnesium castings? Save weight maybe?

Bruce's info, if correct, is 20-30+ years old. And he's one person, not a great sample size. There are plenty of racers, using smaller lighter wheels and tires on factory-limited fenders.

As for authenticity, I have no idea WTF you're talking about.

Your argument is trying to justify what? Buying a JBL, with 18's or what are you trying to sell here? Because I'm not buying it. Maybe others will, but I don't.
