Honestly, in near three decades, I never spritzed the bleeds. I had them on the bench exactly twice to go through them with new gaskets and once to change the squirters. But not because they gave trouble-they always worked perfectly.

I've read here and elsewhere that the ethanol is attacking the old school Holleys. My "carbs from another mother" (aluminum), didn't develope this issue even after thousands of miles. The 660s did on the Paxton motor did. At this point I can't remember if it was the idle or main bleeds (think it was the idle bleeds), but 3 were blackened, the rest clean as can be. At any rate, it worked and I'm very happy.

BTW, if Patrick's dog winds up in that cocoon, we'll knw you were in town.
Besides, it was getting boring around here.
