Default FE Tuning - canted manifold

I am working on my Weber setup - 10 degree canted manifold on an FE - 48 IDA's. I've done some graphical analysis of the canted carburetor and the affect on fuel level.

With the float height set to 5.5-6mm, the fuel level is 43mm from the floor of the jet well. I have confirmed this both by layout and by physical measurement with fuel in the bowl.

When the carburetor gets tilted the 10 degrees, the fuel level in the emulsion tube well increases 1.75mm. The tilt changes the relationship of the fuel level to the venturi discharge port and also to the holes in the emulsion tube. If I understand the Webers correctly, this would cause the mid-range points to run a little richer than that of a carb setting level.

To anyone who is running an FE with the tilted carbs, have you tried lowering the float level this amount to see what affect it has on performance and tune?

Paul
