I really must protest here as I claim all legal rights to the term "Fauxbra"™for my Healey-Ford swap. Go ahead, Google "Fauxbra" and see the first entry that comes up:
https://www.google.com/search?q=faux...x-a&channel=sb In the best fakey-doo Shelby tradition I shall be filing a trade dress action against all who continue to use the term "Fauxbra" ™ without prior approval and compensation. (All donations go directly to my "charitable foundation")

If you want to get away with the fakery, you gotta spell it right:
(I'm a real jerk about this. "Raydot" drives me right up the wall along with "Sterling" Moss.)
Some beautiful fakery in this highly entertaining thread. There's probably some term to describe this in the antiques world when a fake becomes easily recognizable because it is so much better than the original.
