We have done the 1/2 cow before and have the same issue with two deer in the freezer plus all the stuff from the garden. With our friends so close we just get what we need when needed.

Both kids like the venison tenderloins and back strap on the grill. When we first moved back to WI I was going to the lake with my daughter to go fishing and she (at 7 years old) said "I like deer, they are pretty and taste good too".

Emily will eat fresh fish for breakfast if there is any left over. She will not eat the stuff they serve at school. We also have some feral pigs around here and there is no closed season and no bag limit and if I had time I would be out there getting some for our freezer as well.

Ron, we had a couple wells in the area run dry a few years ago because they weren't deep enough and we didn't get enough rain. We had a wire break on our pump and found out it is 167' down and is three times the size needed and the well guy said we shouldn't worry about any issues with the pump itself as we could irrigate the farmland around us with it.
