The fact that is is at the end of the "ARM" will have no bearing on it's life expectancy.
The one you have is probably the least expensive one available, (If you know what I mean).
It sounds like the one you want is for an OPEN/CLOSE switch to operate a red low pressure light instead of variable 0-60 lb gauge? Do you have both a gauge AND a red light?
