Wonder what the number of GT's have been that have been written off. Maybe if the numbers out there are severely lowered the values will increase. Still a lot of GT's out there.
I have heard as many as 1000 have been totaled, hard to say though because some were not reported to keep from affecting the value. Some have even had a little title washing done to protect the value and fool the new buyer.
Values have been increasing in the last few years. The problem with Ford GT's is that parts are just not available and when they are they are really expensive. That may also be a reason for the increase in price. Hard to verify, but numbers in the high 200k range are being reported and even 300k for low mileage Heritage editions.

Ford GT's have ABS brakes and that is the extent of bad driver protection.
Lots of people that bought them because they could afford them were not qualified to drive them, thus lots of crashes.
