Default Procedure for using a 80-94 clutch cable (DV method?)

Ok, I got a 78 Mustang clutch cable and I am really disappointed on how it slides in the cable housing (allot a resistance compared to the 80-94 clutch cable I also have).

DV, you mentioned how to use the newer style cable but I don't recall what you said. Looking that the extra length of the cable, the tube between the firewall and cable would need to be like 8 inches long.
Plus what to I do to attach the flat piece at the end of the clutch cable to the clutch lever?

I have heard of someone using a firewall adjustor/clutch quadrant, does anyone have any pics of how they mounted the clutch quadrant?

Thanks
