I was where you are just a few months ago. No way around not cutting the pipes. I did it and used a 4 in band to hold it back together after changing the insert and it sounded better but the chrome band didn't match up with the ceramic pipes. I ended up going with Classic Chambered Exhaust and they sound great. Still had to cut the pipe off just past where 4 go into one and connect them there. They look good and sound much better.
