Both the wife and I got bitten and it is not fun, its stays with your for over a month, especially in the achilles tendon area--- son of a gun it hurts to walk. Wife has done it twice but her problem is the short legs and fast brain.
Carry a first aid kit in the survival duffle bag for that too.
