Thanks DV, I have seen that done in my younger years and does work.

But, I needed insulators actually thicker than orig, as my clearance on wide rear tires was minimal and rubbed on these crappy Ohio roads. Ended up using energy suspension .650" thick with 3.75"ID and 5.25 OD. Worked out pretty good, except passenger side still was sitting low. Tried adjusting coils from access behind seat, but the coil is basically just compressing(much more than LS). Took all back apart suspecting a weak spring. Sure enough that spring is almost 1" shorter than the other (unsprung)
Picking up new moog springs for Chevette tomorrow.
Thinking new springs with the thicker pads will get me safe ride height.

Holding off on swapping to coilovers, (beer budget) after flopping out the cash for the car lol..
