The other ground wire that you found on your coil goes to your tachometer I believe. Also, when you have some time check all your header connections to see if they are tight, just for grins. At some point these will work loose and possibly cause a backfire (usually on deceleration). When using an MSD ignition, the tach wire comes from the MSD box and not the coil. The coil should only have a black and orange wire connection from the MSD box.
