Hi. I have had collector cars wet sanded and buffed as part of a restoration, and I've done it myself too. Websites like autogeek have instructions and supplies. Personally, I prefer to start with fine grit like 2000 and spend more time at it rather than start with something coarser and faster. Then 3200, then I use a Flex orbital and microfiber pads with compounds and polish. On my clear coated cars I've been happy with the Pinnacle system. The results are satisfying in doing it yourself.
