I used an intercom with Peltor noise cancelling headsets. They're much more effective than earplugs and allow me to listen to music, satnav, answer my telephone and have a comfortable and easy conversation with my passenger.

Paul, some questions... Im interested in a better solution than foam ear plugs.
Those look like 'in ear' headsets, do you not get sore ears after a while?
Is the noise cancelling aspect built into the starcom box?
Do you wear these under a helmet (F/F or Open-Face) or 'as-is' ?
