I know this post is a couple of months late but
The Hickory Barn building was damaged beyond repair. Bill did not have insurance and FEMA would not help him. After a couple of months a couple of people in the area set him up with a loan that allow him to rent / buy (I'm not sure) a building a couple of miles east of his old location.
The week after the tornado I drove to the area hit and found Bill and Mary at the school cooking for everyone at no charge.
As I talked with him I noticed three large smoker, smokin' away and ask if they were his smokers. He responded yes and told me that on Sunday he told Mary that they were going to the area where the storm hit to cook for the people. He moved his smokers to his house on Sunday. Monday the tornado tore thru the area where his business was located, destroying everything outside his building.
The smokers where safe at his house five miles away.
Tuesday he set up to cook for everyone at the school 3/4 of a mile from his building. He would post on Face book what they were going to cook the next day and people would bring him the food. After five hours he had to tell everyone Not to bring more food, they had to much!
He cooked for thousands of people for a couple of weeks.
Now they are getting the new building ( an old catfish restaurant) ready to cook BBQ in.
I'll be driving over to Huntsville one day this week and I'm going to check on Bill and Mary.
Great people! And great food!
I never did ask what happen to the barrels (two maybe three) of Jack Daniel's whiskey he won at BBQ cook offs in Tenn.
