Just re-read Dan's response - so there shouldn't be seal at the two front corners, correct? Just an inch or two each side?

AC was not consistent at the stopping points. With all the fine details you want to copy it would be good to buy some of the 1963-64 magazines with new Cobra road tests in them. Lots of pictures of Cobras being made from a couple tubes up to performance road tests were published. The engine bay and cockpit pictures are super sources of details.
