I had this problem as well when I first got my Cobra on the road. It turned out to be heat soak boiling the fuel in the carb and lines and likely creating vapor lock. The solution was to add a 1/4" phenolic spacer between the carb and intake, and also to insulate the fuel lines with fiberglass/reflective wrap from McMaster-Carr. Solved the problem.
