On the other hand, for those that insist there are because they have seen them in a CR is due to Don Scott: Think back to the older days,70's or earlier when cars used a chrome "CAP" on the inside door locks! Some of these were simply CAPS and not the entire shaft which was used to trim out the Push down/Pull up door locks!

Don discovered Chevy and GMC P/U's used just used these caps for trim. they had "tangs" on the bottom that would be bent under the panel, holding the caps to the door panels. Don would cut off the tangs and GLUE the caps over the holes! And there you have it, "Chromed Ferrules" for a CR.
