You called it ... went for $225,500 which is a bit more reasonable. Looks like a very nice car.
Have not seen very many bare 289s ... the 427 Kirkhams look pretty good with no paint, but the FIA looks better with paint, IMHO ... something like Viking Blue is a good choice ...
