I sympathize with you .... we pulled the Dry Sump Tank out many times ...which means pull the exhaust sys every time to get to it.... and inner fender panel .... we Nut-Serted our inner panels to the car.... so we could remove them with a screw instead of rivets.

What we eventually found out, was that some of the welds had pin holes in them and oil just leaked out ...especially when it got hot.... and we were running 245*degrees on the oil going into the tank....220*degrees on oil going into the motor .... on a 90*degree day....

That was when we took it apart and rewelded all of the fittings and it turned out to be the fittings on the fuel cell plate where the pickup is.... very frustrating chase. BTW the gaskets for the tank are at Fuel Safe .... but we used a GM Silver RTV to seal that gasket and the bolts to seal everything up and it was a happy day when that happened.....
