If you watch the video (QuickJack - Ranger BL-5000 Quick Jack - Motorsports Race Jack Stands - Race Car Pit Lift - Portable Car Lift - Garage Lift - Ranger) you'll see there's a lock bar on each side that goes in place before you go under the vehicle.

I'm looking at the 5,000 lb. model as it goes as low as 3" (same as 3,500 lb. model) and I have other vehicles to use it with.
