I can answer that Simon. The fly by wire throttles differ depending on the model. The later VE and VF I think all have the mounts oriented such that you need to side mount them. I think earlier ones (such as referenced in the build manual) could be mounted on the top. Otherwise you could make a right angle bracket to mount them on top. Either way, the orientation of the fly-by-wire pedal is the same to the bell crank setup. It "presses" to towards the right, outside wall of the foot box.
