I am not sure what you are asking. The stud holes do not drill through. They are hidden on the brake side of the wheels. I have handled wheels with rusty steel studs in the balance boss holes, wheels with threaded holes but no signs (no rust stains or witness marks from weights) of studs being installed, and wheels that didn't get holes drilled. The introduction of self adhesive curved wheel weights obsoleted the mechanical fastening method. I don't know who made self adhesive weights first but I have some used American Racing ones as advertised for their wheels ones in my collection somewhere.
