You wash and polish just like any other car. Different type of polish though.
I recently polished some aluminum parts for my engine compartment. If you look at them sideways they get scratches. I am trying to imagine getting road tar, bug splats and bird doo off the polished or brushed finish without creating marks or damage. My last car was black and that kept me on my toes to not create swirl marks in the paint. I also saw one that was polished with brushed stripes. The upkeep on it was not great and it solidified my opinion on it.

If you can keep it looking good more power to ya.
