Thanks for the link to the catalog. While I didn't want to switch 5th gear assemblies, my preference was to just change input shafts and bearing retainers, then swap transmissions between cars.

The catalog was helpful; it shows that there are a few other differences - output shaft, extension housing and speedo drive.
