It was imported around 2000 by my uncle who made/owned it in the UK.
Sat in Aus for 14 years dormant until I brought it 5 months ago with 3,900 miles on the clock, was used for speed trials and hill climbs during the early-mid 80's.
Was in latest edition of '289 register' UK magazine being BRA 289 body No.4
Basically classic UK set up:
MG 1966 chassis, MG suspension & brakes, diff 3.7:1
Rover 3.5 V8 SD1, group 1 spec engine balanced & blueprinted
Crane Cam, modded heads, Holley 4 barrel, offenhauser manifold.
Wire wheels 15x7 3 ear knock offs, cooper cobra GT radials.
Rover 5 speed, smiths gauges, kerb weight 820kg.
Been flat out over the last 5 months getting her going and ready for the road.
And it's paid off ! Such a buzz to drive !
I have also recently joined CCCV and am very excited as the whole cobra community seems to be a very passionate one...
Cheers
Aaron
