I remember when I had my Autokraft and it sat next to the KMP in my garage. I could look at every detail side by side and even though the bodies were far from identical, one could definitely see what it took to make the Autokraft
look like a modern stamped steel car.
So, yes, dings, body 'corrections' (cowl, front opening edge, door jambs) etc, take quite a bit of work to make it look like a 'perfect' job, much higher quality than original. If I had an original and painted it, I would have done it with less attention on the imperfections.
We've all seen original restorations where they appear
too perfect, but ours are replicas..
