Question Carb opinionitis

I'm looking to choose a carbeurator. I'm planning on throwing away my preconceptions and approach this with an open mind. What are your general opinions of the various cabs today?
My considerations are:
Edelbrock AFB-style
Holley Street Avenger
Barry Grant Street Demon
Predator
Quadrajet
My application would be for street use only. A choke is neccessary. I want something dependable and certainly streeable on a mild engine. O.K., you gearheads, let me know what you think.
Thanks, JT
