Default Carb choices

When my engine was being built I asked the builder (RV Engines, Alexander N.Y.) what size Holley carb I should use. He already knew how I planned to use the car so he recomended that I use an Edelbrock 600 CFM. He said it won't produce the power of a comparable Holley but it would be way more reliable and trouble free. He said the Edelbrock can sit for months without being used and then work just fine when called upon. The holley may take some tinkering. It boils down to this: Power = Holley, Tune it and forget about it = Edelbrock. By the way the Edelbrock carb comes with a comprehensive manual that tells you everything you need to tune the carb.
