331lxstang, mine is also "factory built", by Don himself in late 2004 and my dash is the drop down style. Be careful when trying to pull the dash out for access. My wiring left some to be desired and was full of butt connectors that weren't crimped correctly so every time something would not work or light up after reassembly.
It got so bad I completely re wired the car front to back.

At the steering column will have to be dropped and I might suggest using painters blue tape on the sides just ahead of the top of the doors to protect the paint from the backside of the dash rubbing against it.
Be careful of the grounds as they are most likely Xmas tree'd all over.
