Really glad you're ok...enjoy our backyard (Yosemite).

Kirkhams use nylocs on just about everything, and double return springs should be used at both locations. While those are bolts I check regularly as part of regular maintenance (while I'm also checking steering shaft connections/bolts...another breeding ground for "oh sh!t" moments), they've never become loose enough to tighten even a little in over 12 years. Welding's obviously good, but the extra PITA it takes using nylocs everywhere on this tin can does add to the piece of mind. Touching every damn nut/bolt with a wrench 3-4 times a year and before every track session is nice therapy.

I treat this damn thing like I do my guns.
