There is another way but you need to know someone or be lucky like me and strike one of the young development engineers that worked on that stuff.
He had access to the original Ford gear used to set up the AU's so I had it all disabled in the ECU directly. No smartlock, BCM or matching key required.
But then there weren't really chips available either for ages for the Fords, so it was always a hard nut to crack the AU stuff simply.
