Cal,

Dampers are probably not the way to control rear end lift. They're primarily meant to keep the wheels from bouncing, and secondarily to keep transitions under control. You're trying to decrease the end value of a transition. You can't do that unless you set the damping much too high to deal effectively with the other more important things a shock does. Stiffer springs are required.
