I have a set of Eberhard 400 series door locks and pins with my kit, which are compliant with the US safety standard (FMVSS206) for door latches and locks on passenger vehicles of 10,000 lb or less.

There was a harmonization process which occurred in 2007, after the standard with released in 2006, which was approved to align the testing requirement of SS206 with the EU regulation 11, covering the same components and classes of vehicle.

ADR 2/01, SS206 and EU Regulation 11 are all based on the requirements that were initially developed:

• SAE J839, September 1998 - Passenger Car Side Door Latch Systems
• SAE J934, September 1998 - Vehicle Passenger Door hinge Systems


Questions.. now having become way too knowledgeable about door locks and their testing requirement

1. Is whether there are any known kit cars in Aus which use the Eberhard 400 series locks
2. Are there any vehicles which are on sale in Aus that use the above lock or....
3. Beyond the purchase of the now obsolete (does anyone know where to source a new pair of) Ford Falcon XD - XF door locks what is the recommended alternative..?
