Some kind of Australian hoops to jump through to get a car registered or titled? Is it different in different areas of the country?
Thanks.

Getting a Cobra registered and on the road in Australia requires a bit of work. You cant just turn up at the Registration authority with your car and some cash. We have Australian Design Rules that the car must comply with. Even though it's a replica of a 1960's car it has to comply with the same rules as modern cars do i.e Emissions and safety. There are some exemptions in that you don't have to have crash test results but you do need torsion and beaming tests done on the chassis.
Cars need a full engineers report from a certified engineer and then the usual safety certificate all cars must have before you can get a set of plates and put the car on the road.
I'm just surprised to see a Left hand drive Backdraft registered as LHD cars can only be registered if they are over 25 years old.
