Jeff,
Its amazing how it's possible to produce power in such vastly different ways.....
215 cubes, less than 10:1 compression with turbos, a computer and all it's associated datalogging and engine protection parameters, or
600 cubes, two carbs, 14:1 compression and a wet sump!
I love both approaches!!!!
Nothing beats the sound of a really big cube motor with massive compression, whether it's loping its way through the drag strip pits or screaming at 7000+ down the strip. Then again, I like technology that enables a 215 cube motor to make similar power as the Mountain Motor while being able to be driven on the street with some degree of practicality. If race gas isn't available, you simply dial back the boost and run dirty old pump gas on an alternate fuel/ignition table.
Reher Morrison make some of the best big block Chev motors on the dragstrip. Shame to see that cancer broke up the winning partnership a while back.
Would I personally go for cubes or technology? My own motor is a reasonable sized stroked small block with a blower and EFI, so I have a finger in both pies
