Global conspiracy or otherwise, politicians are usually loathe to spend time and money on issues that won't further their first goal - to get re-elected.
Given the overwhelming support this issue is getting by global leaders, it is obvious they're convinced by the science supporting the issue of global climate change - and dismissive of the outliers preaching dissent and denial of same.
